Mary Ann Anderson

Mary Ann Anderson is Director of Consulting Services for Lexicon Relocation, LLC based in Jacksonville, FL. Her career spans more than 30 years in relocation management services, assisting corporations to manage the relocation of employees around the country. Her focus is on client relocation benefit consulting. Mary Ann received the Certified Relocation Professional designation from the Employee Relocation Council (ERC) in 1989 and ERC's Meritorious Service Award in 1991. She was a founding member of the Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Council and is currently a member of the Southeastern Regional Relocation Council. Mary Ann has an MBA from Loyola University, Chicago, IL.

Robert H. Anderson

Bob Anderson has been a Guardian ad Litem in the Fourth Judicial District of the Florida Supreme Court since 2001, as well as a trainer for new GAL volunteers. He is a retired educator with a Master of Science in Education in History. He taught high school in suburban Chicago for over 30 years and served as Department Chairman of English and Social Studies. His service also includes board membership with Junior Achievement in Illinois and the League of Women Voters, Charlotte, NC; being LWV Chairman of the Education Committee and the Court Watch program in Mecklenburg Country, NC; and spent time as an ex officio member of the NC State LWV board.

John L. Daigle, Jr.

John Daigle, a seasoned communications professional and project manager with proven leadership and management skills, directed public relations at Jacksonville University through three administrations before launching his public relations and advertising agency, Principle Creative, Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree and a Master of Arts in mass communications degree from the University of Florida before spending a decade as a reporter and editor at major Florida newspapers.

Joan Fernandez

Joan Z. Fernandez formed the court reporting firm of Executive Reporters, Inc. in 1970 after having been a court reporter for the State of Florida for 19 years. In addition to her involvement with Voices for Children and as a foster parent, she is an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi, GAL, and the National Court Reporters Association, among other organizations. She is married to Ellis T. Fernandez, Jr., retired Senior Judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit. Outside of work, Joan enjoys spending time with her 3 children and 4 grandkids.

Jessie Harrell

Jessie Harrell is an appellate attorney with Mills, Creed & Gowdy. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Jessie practiced commercial litigation, including appeals, with the national law firm of Foley & Lardner, LLP. There, she represented some of the nation's Fortune 500 companies at the trial and appellate level. Jessie's practice areas ranged from complex commercial litigation (including class action defense, automotive warranty/“lemon law” defense, and defense of banking practices) to products liability and personal injury defense.

Jessie graduated from the University of Florida, with highest honors, in 1998, receiving a B.A. in Classical Studies. She then graduated from the University of Florida College of Law, with high honors, in 2001, where she was seventh in her class, and received numerous awards for her academic achievements and successes on the school&39;s trial team. Jessie also served as an articles senior editor on the Journal of Law and Public Policy. After law school, Jessie was inducted in the Order of the Coif.

Jessie enjoys using her legal skills to give back to her community. Jessie has been a Board member for Voices for Children of the First Coast, Inc. since 2006. Jessie also received the Pro Bono Award in 2007 from Jacksonville Area Legal Aid for her commitment to assisting indigent clients with their legal problems.

Andrea Hoffman

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Andrea Hoffman retired to Amelia Island in 2005. She graduated with a B.A. from Boston University, received master’s degrees from Indiana University and Simmons College, and earned a doctorate at Simmons College. Andrea spent her career in higher education administration. Before retiring, she was an administrator for 20 years at Wheelock College in Boston, where she held the positions of Vice President for Development and Vice President for Academic Affairs. She also served on numerous professional boards during her career. Since moving to Florida, she has served on the board of the Friends of the Library Fernandina Beach and is an active Guardian ad Litem volunteer.

Corky Hoffman

Corky Hoffman is a graduate of Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois, and MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for nearly forty years. Presently he is a principal in the firm of Hoffman Alvary & Company, an accounting and consulting firm located in Newton, Mass. Previously he was a partner in the accounting firm Price Waterhouse & Co. In addition to his work as a Guardian ad Litem and with several other charitable organizations, he has served as Chairman of the Standing Committee of First Parish Church in Weston, Massachusetts.

Everett Johnson

Everett A. Johnson, a native of Jacksonville, is a retired Army Officer and recently retired Department of Defense Senior Strategic Analyst. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Army Management Staff College, and holds a Masters of Strategic Studies Degree from the U.S. Army War College. He is a decorated Viet Nam veteran and has held numerous leadership and managerial positions during his more than 40 years of Military and Federal Civil Service, concluding with service on the staff of the Secretary of Defense.

His military and civilian duties have taken him to more than ten US states, South Korea, South Vietnam, throughout Germany and other European countries. Throughout his professional career, no matter the location, he has found time to volunteer, coach, and mentor. Since returning to Jacksonville in 2005, he continues to serve his community as a member of SCORE, where he is a business counselor, University Liaison and member of the Florida Community College at Jacksonville Business Advisory Board. He and wife Barbara have two adult daughters, a son and one granddaughter.

Joe Trance

Joe was born and raised in New York. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY-Empire State College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration for the University of Phoenix. Joe joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida in 1994 and is currently the vice president of Enrollment, Maintenance and Billing.

Joe is married, the father of six children and has six grandchildren. Throughout his career, Joe has been actively involved in community and civic organizations. He has participated in numerous volunteer roles for Girls Scouts of America, church committees and booster programs in his children’s schools, as well as numerous volunteer activities in the community such as Dignity U Wear and Habijax.

Fred Vanderbilt

Fred has a Bachelor of Science degree from Hamilton College. He has lived in Florida for 30 years, the last 13 as a resident of North Florida. Fred has served as an officer of Habijax, an Advisory Board member of the Jacksonville Housing Authority and a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. He held Senior Human Resource positions in publicly traded and private organizations before starting his own Management Consulting firm in 1985.

John Wagener

Originally from Maryland, John has lived in North Florida since 1995. He attended the University of Maryland majoring in economics and is a retired entrepreneur and business owner. John is married, the father of three daughters and grandfather of four children. John also spends his time as a volunteer for the Readers Aloud program reading to elementary school children, the Rita Foundation's Seniorita charity for breast cancer research, and the rules enforcement committee for community residents. He is a member of the executive board of American Legion Post 233 and past adjutant; and has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem since 2003.

Recently, John was awarded and recognized statewide as the Volunteer of the Year for the Fourth Judicial Circuit (2006). He has been a member of the Voices for Children board since 2005, was elected Vice President in 2006 and currently serves as board President.
